GOVERNMENT PROCESSING TIMES
This section contains the most recent processing times for the four INS
Regional Service Centers, for the INS District Offices, and for the State Employment
Security Agencies (SESA's) and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).
On March 18, 1999, INS Headquarters issued a memorandum to all
Service Center Directors advising them regarding the expected processing times for various
types of petitions and applications. You may wish to check whether your service center is
presently meeting the processing times indicated by this memorandum.
INS Regional Service Centers: Jurisdictions and Processing Times
INS District Offices
Waiting times for INS District Offices for (1) Applications for
Adjustment of Status from Filing Until Approval; (2) Work Authorization; (3) Advance
Parole; and (4) Naturalization.
Labor Certification Processing Times
Processing times for Labor Certifications are a combination of
U.S. Labor Department and State Employment Security Agency
(SESA) processing times.
Consular Post Processing Times
Processing times at eight different consulates abroad for immigrant (permanent) and various
types of nonimmigrant (temporary) visas are listed in a handy
